Bountiful STEM Educational Foundation Donates Computers to Ga South Municipality Schools, Enhancing STEM and Literacy Education

In its ongoing mission to bridge the digital divide and enhance educational access, the Bountiful STEM Educational Foundation (BSEF) made a significant impact this week with its latest computer donation. The team visited Bortianor and Aplaku Basic Schools in the Ga South Municipality, delivering 20 desktop computers and accessories to support effective teaching and learning in STEM, artificial intelligence (AI), computing, and literacy through the science of reading methodologies.

The donation marks a pivotal step in BSEF’s broader commitment to equipping underserved schools with the tools necessary for 21st-century education. Recognizing the increasing role of technology in shaping future-ready learners, BSEF’s initiative is designed to inspire both students and teachers to embrace digital learning and STEM education.

Following the donation, specialized training sessions were held for English, STEM, and ICT teachers, as well as language coordinators from the beneficiary schools. These sessions, conducted in collaboration with Bountiful Technologies Ltd and Reading Horizons, focused on modern science of reading methodologies, equipping educators with innovative strategies to improve literacy and reading comprehension.

Ruth Mensah, Special Project Lead at Bountiful Technologies Ltd, highlighted the importance of these trainings:
“Our goal is not just to provide equipment but to empower educators with the skills and methodologies needed to transform teaching and learning. By integrating technology with proven reading strategies, we are helping students develop critical thinking and literacy skills essential for future success.”

The event was made possible through the combined efforts of various partners and individuals committed to transforming education in Ghana. Special thanks go to:

  • Tyson Smith and Angie Smith, whose unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in the success of this initiative.
  • Selina Appiah and Frank Manu from Bountiful Technologies Ltd, for their technical expertise and leadership in driving this project forward.
  • Jim Laudie, Director of Donors and External Relationships at BSEF, for his tireless efforts in securing resources and fostering international partnerships.
  • The Director of Evaluation and Supervision at Ga South Municipality, Ghana Education Service Directorate, for their collaboration and commitment to educational development.

Additionally, gratitude extends to the heads of schools and their selected teachers for their enthusiasm and willingness to embrace this transformative initiative. Their active participation underscores a shared vision for enhancing educational outcomes across the municipality.

BSEF’s computer donation and training program is part of a larger effort to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have access to quality education and the digital tools necessary for success in an increasingly tech-driven world. By fostering collaboration between educators, technology partners, and donors, BSEF is helping to create a brighter, more equitable future for education in Ghana.

This latest donation follows a series of successful initiatives by BSEF across various regions, further solidifying the foundation’s role as a leader in promoting STEM education and literacy in underserved communities.

Together, with continued support from local and international partners, BSEF is committed to empowering the next generation of Ghanaian learners through technology and innovation.
